Luann E. Heshion, born May 23, 1931, passed away on March 17, 2026, after a brief illness.

Luann was the second of eight children born to Wyatt and Virginia Jenkins. She lived for a time in Atlanta, Georgia, and Knoxville, Tennessee, before her family settled in Kansas City, Missouri.

She graduated with honors from Lillis High School and earned a scholarship to Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas.

Luann married Bernard Heshion, and together they raised six children.

Luann loved traveling and visited 48 states, as well as Canada, Germany, France, England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.

She enjoyed spending time with family, watching Bette Davis films, attending theatre productions, playing the piano, learning on the computer, and building lasting friendships around the bridge table.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard (2013); her parents; her brothers Bob, Greg, and Mark Jenkins; and her sister, Virginia (Jenkins) Menor.

She is survived by her children: John Bernard; Deborah Shigouri (John); Daniel Wyatt; Mary McCalla (Alan); Thomas Eugene; and Joseph Patrick.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: John Eric Heshion; Nick (Nina) and Matt Shigouri; KT, Annie, and Meghan McCalla; and great-grandson, John Ryan Heshion.

She is further survived by three sisters, Suzie Krueger, Peggy Darnay, and Bebe Gdovin; two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Cherie Jenkins; several cousins; 26 nieces and nephews, as well as their children; and many lifelong friends.

Visitation will be held on May 2 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (Meyer at Holmes). Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston, Missouri.
