Dallas Kent Allison, devoted partner, loving father, and proud grandfather passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at KU Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.  Celebrations of Life will be held on later dates in his adopted home of Kansas City and his forever home of Colorado. Dal was born on April 26, 1945, to Arla and Catherine (Lundeen) Allison. He was the second of four siblings: Jerry, Jim, and sister, Jan Freeman. Dal graduated from Aurora High School along with his longtime partner and 7th and 8th grade girlfriend, Arlene (Schoonveld) Smith.

Dal furthered his education at the Universities of Colorado Boulder, and Northern Colorado, as well as the Thunderbird graduate program for international management. He had a rewarding career as an entrepreneur, business owner, and even trained with the World Bank for International Finance, which allowed him to live in Madrid, Spain and travel the world. Dal took to athletics from an early age where he was a bull-rider in local rodeos, a member of both the high school track and football team, a college gymnast, and later in life, a golfer. He was also incredibly creative. As a teen, he crafted his own leather saddle, winning a national competition. He then went on to build, restore and race vintage antique cars. There was even a point in his life where he raised Alpacas. Simply put, Dal had many passions, and he could fix, restore, and build anything.

Dal is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Mark Dalton, of Evergreen, Colorado and grandchildren, Bode and Chloe. He was immensely proud of both and was eager to share their talents through the years. Dal is also survived by his dear stepdaughter, Annie Perrine of St. Louis, Missouri. Later in life, Dal moved from Colorado to Kansas City, Missouri to rejoin Arlene. She, along with daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Jim Kanatzar, son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Ketti Smith, and grandchildren Will and Sam Kanatzar, and Turner(Cindy), Tate (Monique), Sadie and Jace Smith, were so very lucky to share the last seventeen years with him. Dal and Arlene never stopped enjoying life as they checked off every item on their bucket list, including RV’ing in Mexico, canoeing down the Missouri River, camping on the beach, and white-water rafting with the Daltons in Colorado.

Dallas Allison was an outstanding partner, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. His kindness, patience and advice enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a true renaissance man and gentleman that lived an amazing, fascinating and full life. The family is very grateful to the nurses in the pulmonary ICU at KU Hospital for their wonderful compassionate care during Dal’s sudden and unexpected illness. In lieu of donations, please thank a nurse you encounter in your life for they are true angels.
