Darrell “Dee” R. Osgood, JR, 48, of Raytown, MO died on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. He was born on June 6, 1977 in KCMO to Darrell and Donna Osgood.
Dee was a loving father who focused on what was best for his kids. He celebrated all their successes and was incredibly proud of them. No matter what was going on in his life, he did his best to show up, never missing school events, taking AhMonie to all the father/daughter dances and cheering loudly at Katelyne’s softball games. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling “Dad” jokes and doing “mad libs” with the kids.
Dee was outspoken but not judgmental. When he spoke, it was powerful and meaningful. Everyone including his kids found him easy to talk with. He had a positive impact on many people through his involvement with AA, Maywood Baptist Church, and several recovery houses. He cared deeply for everyone he met.
Dee worked as a glass repairman for many years and never hesitated to help family and friends when windshields, doors or windows needed repairs. He cared for his mother when she was ill and loved spending time helping out on his granddad’s farm.
He was a lifelong Chief’s fan and ran a fantasy football league for several years. The fantasy football draft was quite an event in his league, including music, laughter and costumes.
Dee is survived by his children: Jacob Osgood of Raytown,MO; Katelyne and Timmie Boston of FT Riley, KS; AhMonie Osgood of Raytown, MO; grandsons, Kaizen and Cameron Boston of FT Riley, KS; father and stepmother, Darrell R. and Tricia Osgood SR of Raytown, MO; his siblings and their spouses, Dwight and Heather Osgood of Raymore, MO; Sarah and Todd Golladay of Blue Springs, MO; Amy Weaver of Atlanta, GA; and Jessica and Anthony Soubiago Wexler of Wichita KS; 3 aunts, 2 uncles, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Dee was preceded in death by his mother Donna Tyler and his grandparents.
Services celebrating Dee’s life will be held at Maywood Baptist Church, 10505 E Winner Rd, Independence, MO 64052 on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Visitation will be at 2 PM followed by services at 3 PM. Dee’s family will host a BBQ at their home following the service.

Let’s not forget his wife of 26 years Mrs. Crystal Osgood whom been on the receiving line of everything. She was a good wife and mother who has gone through a great deal of pain. Loss of her whole family has set her in a state of place of sadness but she stays strong. She hasn’t been giving a choice to be any other way. In my opinion she was has and always be the back bone of the Osgood family. RIP D’$ NUTTS SMELL WELL
