Alberta Crowe, born on June 10, 1929, passed away on December 5th, 2019 at the age of ninety.  Alberta’s family was by her side as she passed peacefully.

She lived independently with great strength and love for her family, most recently enjoying an Alaskan cruise with eighteen family members. Throughout both her work and family life, Alberta was dedicated and resolute. Always seeking new experiences and knowledge, she set an unwavering example of how to live with purpose and determination, which has proven to be extremely beneficial to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many family summers at the lake and trips to the Gulf Coast were spent fishing and golfing––pastimes that Alberta shared with her late husband, Vernon. In recent years, Alberta’s passion for family surfaced in the form of greeting cards filled with two-dollar bills, holiday-themed gingerbread houses, and hearty home-cooked meals.

Alberta is survived by her sisters, Winnie Davis and Susan Marron; her children, Verna (Lanny) Kern and Gary (Cyndi) Crowe. As a dedicated and ever-present grandmother and great- grandmother, she is sorely missed by her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Leona Smith; her brother, Terry Lee Smith; her sister, Irene Poindexter; and her beloved husband of fifty-four years, Vernon Crowe.

A private family gathering will be held at Signature Funerals, 406 E. Banister Road, Suite D, Kansas City, MO from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 7th.
