Gano Pearson, granddaughter of grain man, George E. Gano, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Nov. 16th, 2015. She was born July 25, 1921 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Harold Nelson Hobart and Vera Gano Hobart. Raised in Kansas City, she attended Bryant Elementary School and Barstow School. During those years, she and her younger brother, Nelson, also spent much time with their grandparents, George and Adelaide Gano, in Hutchinson, KS. She graduated from Vassar College and returned to Kansas City, where she married Jay Tschudy, Jr. in 1946. Several years after Jay’s early death in 1973, she married Jerry A. Pearson and they enjoyed a long retirement in Delray, Florida and Kansas City until Jerry’s death in 2002. Thereafter, she continued to enjoy a wide circle of friends and interests. She was predeceased by her daughter, Anne Tschudy Jackson, in 2009, and her brother, Nelson Hobart, in 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Gano Tschudy Haine; five grandchildren: Emily Haine Wiesemann, Bertram Jay Haine, Katherine Gano Jackson, Philip Jay Jackson, and Henry Robbins Jackson; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21st at 2pm at 2nd Presbyterian Church, 318 E. 55th St. Kansas City, MO 64113. A private graveside service will follow.
