Grace Elizabeth Shaw, also known as mommy and daddy’s “little angel.” was born on January 31, 2006, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2012. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the UM Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe, Leawood, KS 66224, in the Sanctuary (west building). Burial immediately following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 9500 W. 159th St., Stanley, KS 66221. She is survived by her father and mother, Ned and Kim Shaw and brother, Jack “Bubs” Shaw of Stilwell, Kan. Grace is also lovingly missed by her grandparents, Byron and Peggy Smith of Sarasota, Fla., and Dick and Virginia Shaw of Leawood, and Uncle Lee, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Dustin and Aunt Kendra, cousins, Adyson, Averey and Owen, Uncle Brad and Aunt Mantana and Uncle John Gardner.  Also, Great Grandma Florence Hanna of Sarasota, Florida.
From day one, Grace Elizabeth was a blessing to the Shaw family. She came into the world smiling and she started and ended everyday with that same beautiful, infectious smile. Grace lit up any room that she entered. She never met a stranger. Her famous line was “I want a hug!” Grace attended pre-school at Stilwell Elementary and Kindergarten and First Grade at Morse Elementary, where she worked, played and had many friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading books, singing “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and watching her favorite show “Barney.” She loved all of the Disney Princesses but her favorite was “No-No White,” better known as Snow White. She dressed like Snow White, carried her Snow White doll everywhere and even got to meet the “real” Snow White!
Words cannot explain the love and joy Grace brought to everyone that she knew. She will be terribly missed but we know that we will see her again when we all reach heaven’s gates. We would like to thank all the friends, family, teachers and special support teams that helped Grace and our family so much through the years. We love you all. In lieu of flowers, you can contribute to the Grace Elizabeth Shaw Foundation which will fund scholarships for the courageous children facing physical, emotional or educational challenges.
