James Henry Strick

James Henry Strick, 61, beloved Father and Brother passed away at home on Sunday, December 27, 2020, surrounded by family.
Jim was born January 5th, 1959 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Jim grew up in Westwood, KS, and attended St. Agnes Grade School. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1977.
Jim loved cars and motorcycles and enjoyed working on them, leading to his career as an automotive mechanic. Jim worked at several automotive shops in Kansas City, the final one being Frank and Bob’s in Westport, MO. Jim enjoyed taking his motorcycle out for a scenic ride and was very proud of his classic Corvette. Jim was a kind and generous man and will be missed.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Olivia Strick, of Butler, MO, and by his grandsons: Elijah Abney, 10; Emanuel Abney, 7; Isaac Abney, 5; and Gracin Smith, 2.
His parents, Henry and Jacqueline Strick, preceded him in death. He is also survived by his siblings: Mary Haugh, Margaret Gaughan (Steve), Veronica Daniel (Jeff), Catherine Newell (Charles), Thomas Strick (Bob), Andy Strick (Stephanie) and Jacqueline Hartis (Brian). 15 nieces and nephews also survive him.

Jim was a real good friend..he will b truly missed..
Worked with Jim at Midwest Auto in KC back in the early to mid 90’s. Nice, friendly, quiet guy. Good mechanic. I’ve often thought of him through the years and that is why I looked him up. So sorry to see that he had passed away.
