Linda C. Thompson-Villa, 76, died peacefully in her sleep at home December 30, 2022. She was born June 10, 1946, in Pasadena, CA. The daughter of Albert Kirkland and Mable (Palmer) Kirkland.
Linda graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in art and went on to work in the California State University Library system for 30 years. She retired in 1995 as Head of Periodicals at California State University, Los Angeles.
She married Rick Villa September 21, 1987, who she met while at college.
In 1995, Linda fulfilled a lifelong dream to moving to Santa Fe, NM with Rick. There, she worked at the Print Making Center at the College of Santa Fe. In 2003, they settled in Kansas City, where she worked for a number of years at the accounting firm of Howe and Company. Throughout her life, she was constantly surrounded by her family, friends, and beloved dogs.
She was predeceased by her parents and three older sisters Anita, Alberta, and Evelyn. She is survived by her nieces Denise De La Torre and Gina Towstopiate, her nephew Quinn Anderson, their spouses, 7 great nieces and nephews, and 11 great great nieces and nephews.
