Rosemary Elizabeth “May” Kopp, 66, of Findlater, Saskatchewan, died peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2022, after an extended illness.
May was born on April 6, 1955, to James Edward Kopp, Sr. and Patricia Ruth Eagan Kopp. From a young age, May was a tomboy and excelled at sports, keeping up with her twin brother, Joe, and his friends. She was especially good at basketball. May’s family and many friends cherished her fun-loving personality and sense of humor. She was always up for a beer and a trip to the casino. She moved to Saskatchewan in 2007 and considered the small village of Findlater (population 45) her home. She dearly loved her two dogs, Annie (a Cocker Spaniel) and Chico (an Australian Shepherd). Chico was her closest companion for many years in Findlater. Her Canadian friends were very dear to her and took great care of her. Her family is so grateful to John Kobylansky and Lorraine Taylor, as well as Shari Johnston, Jody Stradeski and Jamie Urena for their kindness to May.
May’s funeral Mass and celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am on June 24, 2022 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea in Bucyrus, KS.
May is survived by her siblings, James Edward Kopp, Jr. (Marilyn), Nancy Carson Schicker, Tina Martinat (Steve), Joe Kopp (Pam) and Teresa Schath, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Always and Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary in Spring Hill, KS. (www.alwaysandfurever.org) Assistance by: Brian M. O’Laughlin and Funeral Advocates, LLC.
