Theresa Randall, 65, passed away on November 13th, 2018 at Kansas City Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. Theresa’s Celebration of Life will be Monday, November 19th at Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe, Leawood, KS, 66204. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am.
Theresa was born March 26th, 1953, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO, to Fred and Rita Tebbe. Theresa graduated in 1971, from Raytown South High School where she was involved in student council, A.F.S., pep squad, and was a member of Cardettes. After High School Theresa received her Associates Degree in accounting from Johnson County Community College. After college Theresa started work at USDA; creating life long relationships.
In May of 1983, while working at USDA, Theresa met her amazing and loving husband Nelson. It was love at first sight and they were married seven months later on December 10th, 1983. Their 35-year marriage was the model of love and devotion in sickness and in health, good times and bad. Nelson spent the last two years alongside his wife, loving, supporting and doing everything he could to help her fight this awful disease. Theresa and Nelson built their home in Stilwell, KS, where they lovingly raised their three children. After raising her family Theresa started work at BVSD; gaining even more amazing friends.
Theresa’s children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was the ultimate Mother and Grandma who spoiled her grandchildren in every way. Theresa was protective, encouraging, spirited and fun, but most of all, beaming with love for her family. She was incredibly loved, and had a tremendous impact on everyone she touched. She cherished the strong relationships she made throughout her life from many groups of friends. She cared deeply for others and was always kind to everyone around her, strangers or great friends. Theresa always enjoyed hosting parties, tailgating with the football moms, and she prided herself on finding the best gifts with her bargain shopping.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Nelson M. Randall; her children, Amanda Sorrier (Bryce), Andy Randall (Anna) and, Sam Randall; her grandchildren Savannah Jeanne Sorrier and Owen Andrew Randall; her siblings Jennifer Tebbe-Grossman (Steve), Greg Tebbe (Barbara),Keith Tebbe (Jody), Rodney Tebbe (Anna); and her loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Theresa’s wish is that everyone wear their “I Wear Purple For Theresa” shirt. If you do not have one a limited number will be available at the chapel or please wear purple. Donations may be made in Theresa’s honor to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org or by check to 1500 Roscrans Ave. Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA, 90266.

Nelson and Family: So very sorry for the loss of a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, family member and friend to so many. She fought a courageous battle and endured so much but you could see through pictures her family was so worth it. God will forever take care of her now in his loving arms. Many prayers and thoughts to you and your beautiful family now and forever as you go through life without her. God’s Speed to all.
Dear Nelson, Amanda, Andy and Sam – It is with the heaviest of hearts I join you in spirit to say goodbye to Theresa. Our whole family has been thinking of all of you and your families in these days. We wish we could be there to offer support, but know we are with you in spirit. I can only think of Theresa in Heaven now and the sound of her deep and joyous laughter keeps playing in my mind and heart. She brought love and happiness wherever she went. I am so sorry for the lonely days that lie ahead as you adjust to her absence, but I pray that peace will come to you knowing you will all be together again one day for Eternity. May your beautiful memories from so many years of happiness and deep love of family sustain you until then.
With sympathy and love, Laura Randall Cooper
