Vera Byrnes, 85 years young, passed away on September 15, 2019.  She was born to Harry and Bertha Cross on April 27, 1934.  She had two brothers: Harold Cross and Bob Cross and five sisters: Norma McGrath, Wilma Lunsford, Marilyn Gumminger, Mina Herriman and Phyllis Ade.  She was sister by marriage to Sue Jasperse, husband Jim and Tom Byrnes, wife Dixie. She married Robert E. Byrnes, Sr. on April 24,1954 and they were married 65 years. They had five children that she called their Masterpieces: Jeanne Uhler – husband Ted, Robert Byrnes, Jr. – wife Natalie, Carolyn Keller – husband Kim, Mary Van Ryn, and Joseph Byrnes – wife Karen.  Her 13 grandchildren are Matthew, Jessica, Jamie, Jennifer, Anna, Wesley, Emma, Brandon, Jonathan, Jeremy, Mary, Jackie, and Meagan, whom she loved so dearly.  She also leaves 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Her family was the love of her life. She was the most loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that God could give.  She was devoted to her loving Savior, Jesus Christ and prayed the Rosary faithfully. A true gift to all of us.  She never stopped giving.  She is precious to us all and will be dearly missed.

Her funeral will be held Thursday September 26th at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church : 7023 W. 71st ST, Overland Park, KS.   9:30 am Visitation.  10:10 am Rosary.  10:30 am Mass  – with a short gathering at the church after the mass.  Burial to then follow at Aubry Cemetery – 191st and Metcalf, Stillwell, KS.   Assistance by Funeral Advocates, LLC.
