On Wednesday, December 28, 2022, Virginia Vollman peacefully passed away at the age of 96. She was surrounded by her family at Kansas City Hospice House.
Virginia was born on April 7, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri to Henry and Ann Engelhardt. She had two older brothers, James and Robert. She married James W. Vollman and they had one daughter, Patricia Vollman. In 1975, they moved to the Washington DC area then ultimately found their permanent home in Kansas City in 1979. She was a wonderful chef and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her quick wit and infectious laugh. Virginia is survived by her sister-in-law Florine Engelhardt, daughter Patricia Vollman, granddaughter Ann Putney and beloved great-grand dog Matilda.
No formal services will be held. A celebration of life at Ann Putneyâs home is being planned around her birthday in early April. Date TBD. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kansas City Academy at 7933 Main St. KCMO 64114.
Virginia was a beautiful and warm person. Patti and Ann were her world and will carry her love with them always.
