Tom Emery was so much more than a hair stylist to hundreds of mature ladies in Kansas City. My mother was one of his clients and for nearly twenty years she spent an hour every Wednesday morning with Tom . As was the case with so many of the ladies he styled, Tom became her dear friend, her confidante and her trusted advisor. They knew each other’s quirks, followed each other’s families , celebrated each other’s happy times and shared each other’s sorrows .
There was no greater heartbreak for all whose lives he touched than the death of Tom’s son Kevin.
I will never forget Tom’s kindness to my mother during her final illness. It was a fitting reflection of a long and treasured friendship .
Thank you , Tom I smile now thinking of you reunited at long last with your beloved son
Tommy, i will always love and miss you, i was so blessed to know you, RIP
