(12.11.1991 to 03.20.2023)
The world’s light dimmed on March 20, 2023, when she made her transition into eternal life. This day is the first day of spring, a season of rebirth and renewal, and International Happiness Day. Our hearts are broken, but Sarah lives on in the eternal love, light, presence, and power of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Wayshower.
We are forever grateful for the compassionate and loving care she received from the hospital’s nurses (who are superheroes), doctors, respiratory therapists, staff, and Midwest Transplant Network, as well as the kindness and support from Father Scott Wallisch of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas.
A lifelong Kansan, Sarah graduated in 2019 with a BSN from Rockhurst University-Research College of Nursing. She graduated with the highest honors. Sarah provided her patients and their families with compassionate and loving care. She always championed for their best interests, held the hand of the dying so they weren’t alone, fiercely protected her patients, and advocated for their greatest good and healing.
Sarah is the beloved daughter of Dawn O’Malley; sister of Caitlin O’Malley; granddaughter of Edward and Dee O’Malley; niece of James O’Malley; and niece of Ann (nee O’Malley) and Edward Harrington. Sarah is a cousin to Nora, Eilleen, Colin, and Finn Harrington. She is a friend to her mother’s boyfriend Mark Cadwell and her sister’s partner Joshua Faught. She also has two nephews whom she adores. Sarah has many, many friends and colleagues who love her.
We are forever grateful for the 31 years we had with her and know she goes before us to pave the way to eternal life.
Sarah was a beautiful woman with a brilliant mind, an amazing smile, warm sense of humor, and fantastic laugh. Her passing has shattered many hearts and has left an irreplaceable void. She is and always will be deeply missed; her legacy of love and generosity continues through her gift of organ donation.
