.       Craig Bennett Reeves, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on February 6th, 2025. Craig was born on April 23rd, 1953 in Concordia, KS, son of A. Bennett and Helen Reeves. Craig lived the majority of his childhood in Concordia, and moved to Rochester, MN in 1968, Craig’s sophomore year of high school. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1971. Craig went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Biology, spending two years at Rochester Community College, followed by two years at the University of Minnesota – Duluth.

            Craig worked at the Gastroenterology Department of Mayo Clinic for 15 years, then was recruited to join Mid-America Gastro-Intestinal Consultants (MAGIC) in Kansas City, where he worked loyally for 32 years. Craig met his wonderful wife, Karen, in 1989 thanks to Craig’s firstborn, Adam. Adam attended the daycare center where Karen was the director. Craig and Karen were married May 19th, 1990 and enjoyed almost 35 years of a loving and blessed marriage. Craig was a joyful and attentive father to his children Adam, Danielle, and Cody. Craig had a variety of hobbies ranging from model trains and airplanes, to watching classic Western movies. Craig’s most cherished activity was spreading the gospel through music as a pianist and songwriter through the years. He was a man loved by many, and embodied a fatherly, patient, playful and loving lifestyle that was seen by everyone. Craig was truly a steward of God, and now is worshipping with the Lord.

            Craig is preceded in death by his father Alvin Bennett Reeves, mother Helen Carrie (Whitney) Reeves, and brother-in-law Ron Breen. He is survived by his wife Karen Reeves, son Adam Reeves, daughter Danielle Reeves, son Cody Reeves and his wife Sadie Reeves, grandchildren Elsa, Aubrey, and Bennett Reeves, and sister Carol Breen.

            On Saturday, March 15th, a celebration of Craig’s life will be held at Colonial Presbyterian Church 12501 W 137th St, Overland Park KS 66221. The visitation will start at 1pm, and the celebration of life service at 2pm, followed by a reception. All who knew Craig are encouraged to join us in honoring his life, and please be thinking of fun memories of Craig to share with his family.
