Dale Bergmann Hausmann, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devout Christian, passed away at the age of 89 on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in Prairie Village, Kanssas. Born Mary Dale Bergmann on April 25, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, Dale was beloved by her family for her generous spirit, her insightful spirituality and her mischievous sense of humor.
Dale worked for over a decade as a teacher for mentally challenged children in Belton, Missouri, as well as volunteering for years at her church, Colonial Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Missouri, as a teacher and curriculum developer in classes for mentally challenged adults. She also worked for years as a valued volunteer in several departments at Colonial, including the music and social services departments. A gifted pianist, Dale loved classical music and Christian hymns, and enjoyed crocheting blankets for all her family and friends, delighting in choosing the bright colors of yarn.
Dale adored her immediate and  extended family and is survived by her brother, Robert Bergmann (Gae), sister, Martha Conley (Layton), her children, Carole Hausmann, Elizabeth Niedt (Doug), and Robert Hausmann (Judi), as well as her six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin Charles Hausmann, her parents, Robert and Petrea Bergmann, and her sister, Petrea Brenckle (Robert).
Following the example of her beloved parents, Dale was extremely generous to her children, making sure they had what they needed to pursue their education, and raise their children with love and laughter. Dale loved nothing better than shopping trips for whatever was needed, plus treating everyone to lunches and dinners at her favorite places. Lovingly known as “Ohmie” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she faithfully wrote multiple letters and birthday cards to everyone in her life, often including her witty poetry with every greeting. She was a true friend to her family members and friends.
Dale loved her animals and made sure her family was raised with dogs and cats. She had two horses in her lifetime and when she lived on her own later in life, she had a series of three cherished cats, one of whom lived to be 25! Her vet informed her that were he a cat, he’d want her as his owner!  She also loved birds and flowers and lived in the country next to her parents for years. Dale lived a full life of kindness and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
