Jacob “Jake” Patrick Flack of Shawnee, passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 37.  Jacob was born on March 17, 1988.  Jacob attended Shawnee Mission Northwest and Pittsburg State University.

Jake was blessed with an incredibly loving and close-knit family.  A true outdoorsman at heart, he was passionate about hunting and fishing. You could often find him in one of his favorite places, the family cabin, with his nephew,  brothers, cousins, dad and his very special uncles David, Joe, Terry, Jeff and Andy. Some of his happiest times were family vacations to Minnesota and Canada, where the wilderness felt like home.

He was endlessly proud of his brothers, Andy and Josh.  His love for them was constant and unwavering. Jake had a special bond with his niece, Taylor, and was a devoted uncle to his best buddy, his nephew, Hunter.  Hunter was never far from Uncle Jake’s side.

Jacob was preceded in death by his brother and best friend, Matthew; his paternal grandfather, Delmar Flack and maternal grandparents, Bob and Gertie Rittenhouse.  He is survived by his parents, James and Susan Flack; his brothers Andrew and Joshua; his beloved niece, Taylor; his best buddy and nephew, Hunter; his paternal grandmother, Kathleen Flack; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.  Jake will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. We find comfort in knowing that he was greeted in heaven by his brother with a big hug—and they’re likely already casting lines and sharing stories in a place where the fish are always biting.

A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 29th at 3:00 pm at Knights of Columbus Hall, 5900 King St. Shawnee, KS 66203

“Don’t worry, or feel sad for me, I’m fishing with the Master of the sea.”

“Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”. Matthew 4:19
