Home is where I wanna be, pick me up and spin me around…peace brother
We are saddened to hear of Doug’s passing and so deeply sorry for your loss, Roy and Rhonda and your whole family. Doug was a regular & welcome fixture at our home during his East years (and beyond). He was bright and had a sharp sense of humor, as well as a good heart. He was surprisingly modest for a young man who was so universally liked and will always be In our hearts & fond memories!
Oh Dougie fresh. I still haven’t been able to fully wrap my head around you leaving this earth. My heart still hurts thinking about all the things that shoulda coulda woulda been. Sending love to you and your loved ones. Can’t stop thinking about your mom, dad, brother and sister, cousins, aunt, and all of your friends that you have made over the years. The world is a darker place without you in it. I have listened to Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers” so many times since I got the news. You made that song part of the Taylor sound track over a decade ago when you sent it to my sister when she was going through some hard times. You were a good man and a good friend. I have already forgotten-many times-that I cant just text or call you to trade life updates and to remind each other that everything is going to be okay. I do somehow catch an 11:11 on the clock almost everyday, I always think of you.
“You belong among the wild flowers.
You belong in a boat out at sea.
Sail away, kill off the hours
You belong somewhere you feel free”
