Hugh “Bud” Tighe, a devoted husband, dad and grandpa passed away July 20th. A visitation will be held at 10:30 prior to the Mass of The Resurrection on  Friday, July 26th, 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes, KCMO 64131. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Bud was born in KC on April 24th, 1923.  He attended  St. Peter’s grade school, Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst College. As a member of “The Greatest Generation” he served in WWII as a Marine.   His service in Cape Gloucester, New Britain, Peleliu, the Palau Islands, Okinawa and the Ryukyu Islands led to a citation for excellent performance of duties as a heavy equipment operator.  Postwar, Bud found his niche in the mechanical contracting field with Paragon Mechanical, Paragon Energy Corporation and Associated Mechanical Inc. In 1953, he married Mary “Jane” Ringel. Together they shared many memorable moments.
Bud was preceded in death by Jane and his two sisters Ann Kelley and Margaret Mohart. He is survived by sons Mike (Cindy) Tighe with Jessica, Courtney & Matt of Mequon, WI; Mark (Sonia) Tighe with Sean & Ashley of Tampa, FL; Cindy (Bill) Barry with Michael & Kelly of KC. Bud is also survived by his sisters Catherine Meyers and Geraldine Roberts.  He was canine’s best friend to  Maddie, Bentley and Mic.  Bud’s Irish heritage and Catholic faith guided him throughout his life.  Semper Fi!  Assistance by Funeral Advocates, LLC
