Andrew (Drew) Lee Lamb, 52, passed away on August 25th, 2018 at the Kansas City Hospice House after a brief and courageous battle of an advanced and aggressive form of cancer. Drew’s passing was peaceful and his hand was held by his son as he took his last breath and made his journey to Eternal Glory. The visitation and Homegoing Celebration will be held at Signature Funerals at 406D East Bannister Road Kansas City, Missouri 64131. The visitation will take place on Thursday, August 30th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The Homegoing Celebration will be held on Friday, August 31st at 10:00am with burial immediately following at Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens at 18301 Salisbury Rd, Independence, MO 64056.
Drew was born on February 15, 1966 in Russell County, Alabama to Vera “Miles” Lamb. He attended school in the Phenix City, Alabama area. He was fondly known by his family down south as “Boot.” He moved to Missouri in the late 1980’s for traveling labor work. Drew was a long time employee of Travel Clean Car Wash in Overland Park, Kansas. He loved making sure that cars shined. Drew enjoyed working on electronics and especially enjoyed trying his hand at rebuilding computers. Drew fathered two children, Dom Bennett who is 30 and Olivia Roberts who is 7. He adored his children and was so proud to be their Dad. They both were no doubt the apple of his eye. Drew was a wonderful and kind father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Drew was preceded in death by his Mother, Vera Lamb and Grandmother, Ruth Miles. He is survived by his son, Dom (Kaycie) Bennett of Lee’s Summit, Mo, his daughter, Olivia Roberts of Independence, Mo, his grandchildren, Noah and Abigail Bennett of Lee’s Summit, Mo, his siblings, Betty Cochran, William Miles, Trishia Miles, Pearl Jenkins, and Shanna Lamb all of Phenix City, Al, one Aunt, Emma Allen of Phenix City, Al, the mothers of his children, Tina Baker of Springfield, Mo and Michelle Roberts of Independence, Mo whom he remained great friends with, special friend/boss Spencer Gregg of Travel Clean Car Washes, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to all the friends and medical professionals who have supported Drew with such amazing care since his diagnosis of lung cancer on 7/27/18. They appreciate your prayers, your understanding, and your kindness.
