Anna M. Clupny Tredway, 88, of Kansas City, passed away March 10, 2015 at home in the presence of her family. Anna was born the seventh of nine children of Leonard and Mary Anna Clupny, on the family farm in Wichita, Kansas, on June 24, 1926. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob Tredway, her parents, and all of her siblings.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Cathleen Tredway and partner David Austin, Robert Tredway, Nancy Haeg and husband Michael, Sr., Alison Tredway, and Stuart Tredway and wife Guadalupe. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Katherine Boschi and husband Richard, Sr., Michael Haeg, Jr., Matthew Jennings and wife Rachel, and Shea Jennings; and four great grandchildren, Richard John Jr. and Anna Margaret Boschi, and Alison and Jacob Jennings.
Anna attended Wichita State University and married Bob Tredway on April 12, 1947. They eventually moved to Shawnee, Kansas, Joplin, Missouri, and finally Kansas City, Missouri. In 1962 Anna completed a clinical training year in Medical Technology at Bethany Hospital, a difficult accomplishment with four young children. She worked at various private and hospital laboratories in Joplin and Kansas City, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed traveling and quilting after retirement.
She was a devout Catholic and a strong positive influence on her children, instilling in them the values of independence and self-sufficiency.
Funeral Services will be held at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main, Kansas City, Missouri on April 9, 2015. The Rosary will be said at 10:00 AM, with visitation until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM. Private inurnment at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date.
The Family suggests no flowers, and memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Harvesters, Wayside Waifs, or other charity organization.
