Barbara Lee Davis, 87, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend died after a very brief illness in Prairie Village, Kansas on Thursday, March 24, 2022. She went peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Born on April 15, 1934, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Barbara was the beloved wife of John Davis for 65 years. She remained active in her faith and her sorority, Pi Beta Phi, and served her community in many ways throughout her long, full life. She was outgoing, enjoying international travel, meeting new people,sharing time with friends and family, cooking, gardening, history and caring for those in need in a very hands-on way. Barbara brought joy to those around her with an infectious smile, unrelenting kindness and her uninhibited laugh. She and John shared a very special romance that remained strong throughout their life together.
Barbara is survived by her husband, her brothers, Bill and Bryan Boggess, her children, Carolyn Mehran (husband Alex), Bill Davis (wife Julie) and Ken Davis (wife Susanne), grandchildren Lindsey (husband Stafford), Kate and Ralph, great-granddaughter, Cameron. She is preceded in death by her parents, Miriam and William Boggess and by her dear grandson, Michael.
We will celebrate Barb’s life at a funeral service held at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas on Tuesday, March 29 at 10 AM.
