We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Bruce Hull Branyan of Loch Lloyd Missouri. Bruce passed on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 of natural causes. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack & Evelyn Branyan and his sister Beth Baughman. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sue E. Branyan, his son John A. Branyan (Elizabeth M.), his grandson Benjamin H. Branyan, Granddaughters Abigail C. and Isabel K. Branyan.
Bruce was born on April 20, 1947 in Cleveland Ohio where he suffered the fate of becoming a Cleveland Browns fan which was hard for him to admit. Bruce moved to Columbus Ohio at a young age and then moved back to the Cleveland area when he was a Junior in high school to attend Brecksville High where he Met the love of his life and his future wife, Sue Branyan. Bruce dazzled Sue with his basketball prowess at only 5’10”! She was certainly smitten. Bruce then pursued a degree from Miami of Ohio University in Oxford and married his High School sweetheart on June 6, 1969. Bruce entered the business world of telecommunications which was interrupted when he joined the Navy during the Vietnam War. Bruce completed OCS and proceeded to flight school, however he chose to leave the military life with an honorable discharge when the war was ending to become a family man and rejoin the world of telecommunications at Ohio Bell.
Bruce continued on in the telecommunications business working for Ohio Bell, AT&T, Carolina Telephone, and Sprint in many great locales in the United States such as North Carolina, New Jersey, Georgia and Missouri. Bruce was extremely fortunate to be able to retire in his 50’s to pursue his hobbies such as golf and travel. He took great advantage of his spare time to accomplish the one thing that he had always dreamed of doing, receiving his Masters Degree in Business. Bruce loved the time he could spend with his family and the never-ending pursuit of knowledge .
A private celebration of life will be held for family. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society.
With a very heavy heart I really have no words that can describe how deeply saddened I am for your loss. They “broke the mold” after Bruce, Pa and my Dad. Bruce was “salt of the earth”. He will be greatly and deeply missed. My thoughts, heart and prayers are with your whole family always! I am here for you. Love to all! Ricci 🙏💙
