Bruce was born on December 17, 1948, to George Joseph Dolny and Emily Dolny in Bayshore, NY, where he grew up and graduated from Bayshore High School in 1967.

Following graduation, Bruce attended college in NY and was then drafted by the Army on June 5, 1968, to serve in Vietnamuntil September 12, 1971. Bruce served as an aerial gunner and was an excellent sharpshooter.

Bruce had a son, Brian, with Cathy Haas on August 30, 1978.

Bruce married the love of his life, Deidria “DeeDee” Ann Waldschmidt, on June 19, 2004, and together, they enjoyed spending time gardening and taking care of their many pets.

Bruce was a very successful salesman, who worked for over 40 years in aftermarket car part sales. On December 31, 2016, after 29 years, Bruce finally retired from Gabriel Ride Control to focus his free time on his hobbies, including gardening and designing and crafting many different word-working projects. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends socializing, riding motorcycles, and watching sports, including Nascar races, KC Royals baseball, and KC Chiefs games.

After many years of fighting heart disease, Bruce passed on November 19, 2021. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, DeeDee; cousins Jody and Gale Belluscio in Dearfield Beach, FL and Darlene Mowbray in Islip, NY; and daughter-in-law Annie Monfort in Iola, KS. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brian on August 23, 2018. He will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held at the Brick in Kansas City, Mo. on Dec. 19th at 2pm. Memorial donations in Bruce’s honor can be made to the ASPCA or the Imagine Furever Ranch in Shawnee, Kansas.
