Carole Raimo Crowley passed away on March 18, 2022. Carole was born on Dec 22, 1937, in Kansas City, MO, to Ben and Adelene Riccardi Raimo.
Carole attended St. Teresa’s Academy and College. She was a lifelong Kansas City and Brookside resident, where she grew up and raised her family. She was well known in Brookside, both from the Hallmark Shop, which she managed for over 30 years, and for participating in all Brookside events. She led the firstBrookside St. Patrick’s Day Parade, proudly wearing her ‘St. Patrick was Italian’ shirt. She claimed her Irish heritage through her husband, Tom. They were married for 63 years. She was a sports fanatic, a proud Red Coater for the Chiefs for 24 years, and a season ticket holder for over 55 years.
She never missed an event for her children and grandchildren, and served in many capacities throughout their school years, including her stint as school nurse where she fainted at the sight of any trauma. She was a dedicated Catholic, a member of the Women of St. Peter’s, and attended Mass daily.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steve, and is survived by her husband, Tom; daughter, Carolyn (Mark); beloved grandchildren, Genevieve and Hunter; brother, Bernie (Sharon); treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House.
A service will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, her parish for 84 years, on Friday, March 25th at 1:00 PM. If youcan attend the service for Carole, we encourage you to wear your brightest Chiefs’ red. She did not like Raiders’ black.
My sincere condolences to Carole’s loved ones. May the smiles, laughter, and kindness she shared with everyone over the years be forever remembered. Take comfort in knowing that God remembers her too. Isaiah 26:19; Psalms 37:29 Praying for comfort and peace during this difficult time for all.
