Our beloved father, Charles (Charlie) Bier, 85, of Lenexa KS, passed peacefully on June 18th. He was born January 22, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY, to Karl & Marie Bier. He grew up in NY and NJ, spending summers at the family’s cabin in Lanesville, NY.

After graduating from Stevens Institute of Technology, he married his wife of 61 years, Mary (Mimi) Tyler, who preceded him in death. He served stateside in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, before moving to Overland Park, KS, where they made their home. He worked for the Bendix Corporation as a Supervising Engineer for 40 years. In their later years, Mimi and Charlie enjoyed traveling, life and their grandchildren.

Charlie leaves a daughter, Sally (Allan) Jensen of Plattsburg, MO and son, Charles, of Boulder, CO, 2 grandchildren, Kelsey & Keaton Jensen and a sister, Mary Ann Conklin of Huntsville, AL.

A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W. 95thStreet, OPKS 66212 at 4pm on Friday, June 22. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the church are most appreciated. Assistance by Funeral Advocates, LLC.
