Christopher Joseph Potts  passed away peacefully on June 4th at his home in Overland Park, KS. Chris was born the to late Joseph and Olive Mae Potts in Fredonia, KS on May 21st 1952.

Chris is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Potts, of nearly 50 years and his older brother Charles (Kathleen) Potts. He leaves behind his son, Bryan (Lori) Potts and his beloved daughters, Sara (Tanner) Rapelye and Rachel (Bryan) Moore. Chris was extremely proud of his eight cherished grandchildren: Logan Potts, Ava Potts, Graham Rapelye, Oliver Rapelye, Ian Rapelye, Marlys Moore, Grant Moore, and Beau Moore.

Chris graduated from Benedictine College in 1974 and spent his career as a Commercial Claims Adjuster for Farmers Insurance, however his true love was buying and selling antiques. At one time, Chris was cited as having one of the largest collections of antique ice cream scoops in the nation. It was not uncommon for Chris to enjoy ice cream for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Chris loved his family vacations in Colorado, summer trips to Maine and fishing in Florida.

Our family is thankful for the love and support we have received while Chris battled Parkinson’s disease for 30 years. We are grateful for the friendships, our Catholic community, and our loving extended family.

A visitation will be held at Curé of Ars on Wednesday June 11th at 1:30pm followed by  mass at 3pm. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to Catholic Community Health (Hospice) at www.catholiccommunityhealth.org
