Courtney attended St. Ann Grade School and Bishop Miege High School. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a BA degree in communications. She worked at Lockton and enjoyed the many special relationships she developed with her coworkers and clients.
Courtney’s greatest joy was her family, and her proudest accomplishment was being a mother to her beautiful children. She embraced life and its challenges with her strong, positive, kind, caring, generous spirit. She was a true inspiration to those around her. Courtney leaves her family and friends with unending, cherished memories filled with love, fun and laughter.
Courtney is survived by her devoted husband, Steve Anderson and her beloved son, Will Anderson. She was the cherished daughter of Randy and Kathy Hartman and the dear sister of Kyle (Natalie), Clay (Kate), Craig Hartman, and Heidi Hartman. Courtney had a kind spirit and a beautiful soul. She loved her children fiercely and was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be missed by many. Courtney left this earth way too early, but I have no doubt that she is at peace with her beloved daughter, Liesel.
Your entire family will be in my prayers.
Ryan and I were so sorry to hear about Courtney’s passing. We enjoyed getting to know her over the last couple of years and she will be greatly missed. You and Will are in our continued thoughts and prayers.
Courtney, I did not get to choose you, that honor was my son (Steve). If I could have picked his match, you still would be the one for him.
Thank you for the happiness you have brought into his life. For all the prayers I ever prayed, you are truly the answer in his life.
For you loved the man who is my son (Steve).
We know that your eternal life now joins “Liesel” in heaven. God is watching over Steve, and Will for their years together.
We Love You Very Much
Your Father and Gini Anderson
The family has been through so much. Peace to you all.
A truly beautiful, amazing person who will be greatly missed. I have so many wonderful memories with Courtney and admiration for her kind, caring spirit. I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss. Sending my sincere condolences and thoughts to her family. She was an angel among us.
Courtney, I did not know you well at all in high school, but we will always be Bishop Miege Classmates of Year 1988. Much love from my family to your.
Courtney brought the light to everything she touched making it all beyond special. That was her gift. Her spirit radiated from deep inside, all were welcome, all felt comfortable in her presence and all that truly knew her will ache for that missing light and her shy smile. Wishing peace and sweet memories to all that loved her. take special care, Maggie
I’ve known Kathy Hartman and her parents since childhood. We had not kept close touch after high school so I did not have the pleasure of knowing dear Courtney personally. Her photo is so beautiful and reminds me so much of her mother. In reading about her, it is obvious she was a beautiful person on the inside as well.
Many years ago I lost my husband, and they say it is so much harder to loose a child, and a grandchild too makes this a sadness that is incomprehensible. Kathy and Randy, I wish I had words of comfort. All I can say is that you will be in my prayers. Kathy, I do remember our last phone conversation.
Courtney and her siblings were special to me. Her mom is a great friend. I thought of the kids as part of my family. Although I have lived out of the area for a number of years, I still hold them all in my heart. It is a heart breaking loss for us all. Sending much love to her family and friends.
Will, sending warm hugs and love your way. I am praying for you during this difficult time. Love you !
May the Lord hold Courtney in his arms and bring peace for all the families.
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Courtney. She was an extraordinary friend, mother, and wife whose love and dedication were a guiding light to everyone around her. Courtney’s example of how to be the best mother, wife, and friend was truly inspiring. Her unwavering support for those she loved was evident in everything she did.
I had the honor of being entrusted with the care of her children for many years, and this trust blossomed into a lifelong friendship with Courtney and her family. I will always hold dear the memory of our time together, especially the beautiful service that celebrated her remarkable life. The singing of “Edelweiss” during the service will forever remind me of those special moments when Will and Liesel would ask me to sing it to them before bed. Although I may not have been the best singer, I cherished those moments because they brought them comfort and joy.
My last memory with Courtney was a joyous one, celebrating Will’s graduation. I saw firsthand how incredibly proud she was of him and how she made sure that every person at the event felt welcomed and cared for. Her warmth and generosity were truly unmatched.
I find solace in knowing that Courtney and Liesel are now reunited in heaven, watching over us as our guardian angels. My heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with Steve, Will, and the entire Anderson/Hartman family during this difficult time. Courtney’s legacy of love and kindness will always remain in our hearts.
With deepest sympathy,
Lauren Mullen
My husband and I both knew Courtney at Miege. When we were thinking of names to name our second daughter, we had a hard time agreeing on names but both were able to agree on Courtney, in part because we only had positive thoughts about your Courtney. We were so sorry to hear about Courtney’s passing. We will keep your family in our thoughts.
I just found out today Courtney passed away. I worked with her at North Supply, as a matter of fact she helped get my job there. Me and my family moved from Texas to Kansas in 1998 to the same apartment complex she lived in. She watched our kids and was wonderful in all aspects. Our love to her husband and son. Ron Crow
