Darlin Anne (Bryan) Jarvis, 71, of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully on June 18, 2015, while holding the hand of the love of her life. Darlin was born in East Liverpool, OH, and it was there that she met her husband, Ron, when they were only 13 years old. (Darlin’s inner and outer beauty certainly caught the eye of many, as she was head majorette and homecoming queen, but it was Ron who completed her fairy tale love story.) They married on March 12, 1966.
Between 1966 and 1987, her husband’s career led them to many cities while they were raising their two children. Darlin may never have been able to use her nurses training, but it was her career as wife, mother, and grandmother that became her greatest achievement.
Darlin also enjoyed a wonderful career as a preschool teacher at Rolling Hills Preschool in Overland Park. She was also an active member at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Darlin is survived by Ron, her husband of 49 years, her two daughters, Jennifer (Bill) Schafer of Mission Hills, KS and Krissy (Reinhold) Tolbert of Las Vegas, NV, her 4 grandchildren, Malachy, Kevin, Emma, and Farah, her step-grandchildren, Christina, Billy, Bobby, Wolfe, and Piper, her loving siblings, Debi (Ron) Hirkala, Sondra (Frank) Griggs, and John Bryan, and many wonderful in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Darlin is now reunited with her grandmother and guardian angel here on earth, Lillian McKeever.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 11300 W. 103 St, Overland Park, KS 66214. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. and a funeral mass at 4:30. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, http://lbda.org/ Assistance by Funeral Advocates, LLC.
Such a beautiful picture of Darlin. She was so sweet and I will always remember her as sweet and beautiful.
