Dolores Ann Ruffalo (Dee), 86, passed away from this life into eternal life on September 15, 2023 surrounded by her family. Dee was born in Falls City, Nebraska to Alfred and Elizabeth Wintz. She was the 6th of 7 children. She married the love of her life, Michael, and they raised their family of 4 boys in Kansas City. Her loving husband of 62 years, Michael, passed away on March 14, 2020. They both loved spending as much time as possible at every family gathering. They cherished their family times at the lake, the beach, watching the grandchildren at their events, family dinners, and of course all the holidays together. Dee loved Bingo, the “boat”, and family poker games. She loved to cook and try new recipes. Their family and grandchildren were their pride and joy and they worked each day to let them know that. Dee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be remembered dearly for her love and kindness and we will always feel her presence with us. We will always smile at the millions of memories. Dee and Michael are preceded in death by Alfred and Elizabeth Wintz, Margaret Coombes, Leonard Wintz, Lawrence Wintz, Victor Wintz, Vincent Wintz, Elaine Casey, Frances Salter and Joseph Ruffalo. Dee and Michael are survived by their sons Joe, David, Doug (Bronwyn), and Mike (Lori), their grandchildren Shawn (Karen), Madison, Makenna, Macy, and their great-granddaughter Bex.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Dee and Michael on Saturday September 30th at 930am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe. The Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in their name to Prince of Peace Catholic Church or the University of Kansas Cancer Center.
