Duse R. Morrow, a devoted wife and mother, died January 28, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House. She was born Duse Eleanora Colombo Riberio on June 8, 1932 in Jequie, Bahia- Brazil. In College, Duse earned her Bachelor of Law along with teaching degrees in English and Sociology. In 1958, while working as a professor of English and Sociology, her interest in the U.S. and its education systems earned her a Fulbright scholarship, which brought her to the U.S. During her time here she visited Carroll, Iowa for 5 weeks to “immerse” herself into American society. During that time she met, Robert S Morrow. They married in December 1959. When her daughters were old enough, Duse worked as a realtor in the Kansas City area, something she really enjoyed. Sadly, in 1986, Robert was stricken with Alzheimer’s. Duse took on the self-sacrificing task of caring for Robert for 11 years; keeping him at home until his death in 1997. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert S Morrow, Duse is survived by her daughters, Lisa Harvey (Tom) and Monica Grawe (Kevin); granddaughters, Taylor Harvey and Ryan Grawe; grandsons, Alec Grawe and Grant Harvey, all of Leawood, KS; sisters Wanda Keller and Maria Isa Barretto of Brazil and many nieces and nephews.
