Georgia Lea (Wilson) Slack, 65, died peacefully on June 18, 2017 after a long illness, surrounded by her family at her home at The Forum in Overland Park, Kansas. Georgia was born July 9, 1951, in Kansas City Missouri, to George F. and Norma Lea Wilson, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are Georgia’s 4 children, Steven Slack, Jr. (Jenny) of Willard, MO, Gina Slack (Suzie Buchman), KCMO, Scott Slack, and Shane Slack, Springfield, MO, along with 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Also left to cherish her memory are her 3 devoted siblings and their spouses, Buck Wilson (Margie), Connie Wells (Corkey), and Vicki Lindsay (Rusty), and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Georgia loved caring for children in her home when she operated a daycare in Overland Park, and then worked many years at Immaculate Conception Parish after moving with her family to Springfield, MO. She returned to the Kansas City area to convalesce in 2011.
Georgia will be buried in a private family service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, in Lenexa, Kansas. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017, 3:30 to 5:30 at Signature Funerals, 8019 State Line Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114.
The family extends all their gratitude to the wonderful staff at The Forum at Overland Park, as well as to Great Lake Hospice, especially to Jennifer and Shelly, who held our hands and our hearts through the most difficult leg of this journey.

So sorry to hear this
I offer my heartfelt condolences to the Slack, Wilson family and friends of Georgia. When death robs us of someone we love very much, it causes much sadness and grief. Our loving heavenly Father, Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) gives us hope at Revelations 21: 4 says: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: “And no resident will say “I am sick,” ever again. May these promises from Jehovah God bring you comfort. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 11:23-25) Again, the family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences. Feel free to contact me at my email address: myranj@centurytel.net
