Gerald “Jerry” M. Booth, 71, of Olathe, KS died Saturday, September 9 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 16 , 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Community Bible Church, 1304 N. Parker Street, Olathe, KS.
Jerry was born April 22, 1946 in Gardner, KS to Richard and Jacqueline Booth of Blue Mound, KS. A gifted athlete, he played basketball and football at Allen County Community College before transferring to Ottawa University. While at Ottawa, he met and married his wife of 48 years, Janet V. (Anderson) Booth.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. An avid sports fan, car enthusiast and golfer, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, talking cars, golfing 18 holes and was a steadfast fan of the Royals, Chiefs and local collegiate teams. He modeled hard work, dedication and a commitment to principals admired by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Janet Booth, daughters Lesley (Booth) Logbeck and Lindsey (Booth) Poe, son Andrew Booth, grandchildren Asher and Nathaniel Logbeck, Kiara and Carson Stecklein, brother Richard Booth Jr., and sister Karen Jan Glapa.

I enjoyed Jerry so much. He was my first friend when I moved to Olathe. We had a number of great times golfing together.
