Judy Henry Hunt passed away Monday morning, November 28, 2016, at Saint Luke’s Hospice House. She left this world peacefully and painlessly in her sleep with beloved family and friends by her side.
Judy was born in Kansas City, MO on August 2, 1935. She was predeceased by her father, Jack Downing Henry and her mother, Virginia Underwood Henry. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Graham T. Hunt, her daughters, Nancy Megee and her husband, Bryan; Kathy Woodward and her husband, Phillip; and her son, David T. Hunt and his wife, Amy McAnarney. Judy adored her six grandchildren, Patrick and Emily Megee, Graham II and Abigail Hunt; Phillip Jr. and Alexis Woodward. She is also survived by her brother Jack Henry Jr and his wife, Lori.
When Judy served as Chairman of the Jewel Ball she was referred to by the Kansas City Star as “The Gentle Dynamo”. A very fitting description of this dynamic lady. She was the consummate volunteer and in fact was named “Volunteer of the Year” by the then Council on Philanthropy. Judy served on and chaired many boards such as The Partnership for Children, Heart of America United Way and her most beloved, Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City, along with The Family Conservancy and the Junior League of KCMO which she served as President.
Judy learned to ice skate at an early age and became an accomplished figure skater at the Carriage Club. She was a member of Mission Hills Country Club for 75 years where she honed her golf skills. Judy attended Sunset Hill High School, spent two years at Smith College and received her BA degree from the University of Kansas where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 1 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Meyer Boulevard and Wornall Terrace. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City, MO in Judy’s memory.

My condolences to Graham and the entire Hunt family
Judy was gracious, elegant, kind, and always had a smile that would light up a room with the most beautiful blue eyes.
My thoughts and prayers with all of you during this difficult time.
My husband and I were lucky enough to have many dinners and meetings with Graham and Judy throughout the years . We were fortunate enough to stay at their beautiful villa in St. Croix .
And my favorite memories are Judy telling me about her trip when she was 15 to Europe with her uncle and how she met Graham talk about a true love she could tell that story 100 times . And every time it brought back that memory of when she first met him and dated him it was wonderful
