Karen Joann Baker, age 49, passed away on February 3, 2013 at the Kansas City Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on March 10, 2013 at the James P. Davis Hall at Wyandotte County Lake. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Karen Baker c/o Arrolyn Potter. No flowers, please
Karen was born on September 17, 1963 in Kansas City, Kansas. NaNa was loved by many. She was a single mother to 3 boys. She enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycles and people in general. Karen belonged to a girl group called the Dixie Chicks. She was a loving mother and grandmother to Aspyn and all of her “adopted grandbabies”. Rest in peace. We love you Mom/Nana.
She was preceded in death by her mother Sharlot, sister Toni, and nephew Rodger. Survivors include sons Robert, Matthew and fiancé Arrolyn, and son Michael and fiancé Susan, all of Kansas City, KS. Grandchildren Aspyn and Zach of Wichita, KS. Brothers Troy Jackson and Jimmy Butler of Missouri, Jimmy Jackson of South Carolina, and sisters Paula Kolwyck of Tennessee and Patricia Butler of Missouri and lots of family and friends.
Karen’s celebration of Life starts with a visitation, then service and dinner to follow. If you will be attending the dinner, please bring a covered side dish or dessert dish and something to drink. We will be selling bracelets and key chains for $3.00 each that say “Live, Laugh and Love for Karen B.”
Please no ALCOHOL. It is PROHIBITED at the facility. All proceeds go to Karen’s funeral expenses.
