Maelee Noel Abu Saada was born on December 13, 1999,to Ben & Addie Abu Saada in Blue Springs, Missouri. She spent three and half years waiting for the arrival of her first sister Carys who she quickly deemed “Skungy” because only a made-up word was good enough to describe her. She again waited patiently for the completion of the Abu Saada girls with the arrival of her youngest sister Layla, who she was always fiercely protective over.

Maelee is not only survived by her parents and siblings but by the following family members (in no particular order) Rhea King, Chris & Amber King (Avi, Kingsley), David King, Karen Abu Saada, Tass Abu Saada, Farah & Joe Marvil (Nina, Jaxon, Zayn) and countless extended family members. She was proceeded in death by her grandfather Danny King and other great grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Maelee passed away on December 24, 2022. A life that was just beginning was suddenly cut too short. Even though she was taken from us before her time, she lived her life to the fullest every single day.

Maelee was passionate about so many things in her life, and she was not afraid to be vocal about any of them. If she had an opinion on a subject, you heard about it. Mae loved her family, her friends and one of her great loves was animals. After watching her Uncle David train canines, that love grew, and Maelee discovered where she wanted her career to go. She was studying to become a veterinary technician and loved every second of it.

Maelee was a graduate of Olathe East High School. She was an honor student, athlete, and musician (violin). As a child Maelee loved many sports and was often told she “played angry.” It was this intensity that made her so successful and a fierce opponent on the volleyball court.

Everything about this beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, friend was big and fierce. She loved big, she laughed big, she protected big, she had big opinions and a big sense of humor. Her absence will leave a huge hole in our family and community. Our one comfort is knowing that she is with her heavenly father and that she is at peace.

Nothing about Maelee would have tolerated a funeral, so we are honoring that and having a celebration of her life.  We want to remember her for all the ways she made an impact on this world, on those around us, on her family and friends. Her celebration of life will take place at Grace Church, South Campus,8500 W 159th St, Overland Park, KS on January 3, 2022 at 4pm. Please join us in celebrating and remembering our girl for who she truly was. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to something that Maelee was passionate about…animals. Please donate to The Pet Resource Center of KC. (1116 E. 59th Kansas City MO 64110) www.prckc.org Please make donations in honor of Maelee Abu Saada.
