Margaret Modean Palmer McKeehan, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on April 20th, 2024, at Silverado Memory Care in Overland Park, Kansas. She was 87.

Born to Rupert and Beryl Trull, she was a lifelong resident of Marble, North Carolina. Modean grew up alongside her five siblings: Loyal Trull, Maxine Truett, Peggy Erwin (all deceased) and survived by Lorene Battle and Janet Holloway. She cherished family bonds and carried their memories throughout her life. Modean was a devoted wife sharing her heart with two remarkable men, Jack Bayless Palmer and Howard Neil McKeehan who preceded her in death.

Modean’s unwavering faith in God shaped her character. She never met a stranger, greeting everyone with warmth and kindness. For over five decades, she lent her voice to the choir at Marble Springs Baptist Church, harmonizing with fellow worshippers. Her devotion to God radiated through her actions and words.

Beyond her church involvement, Modean wore another hat—the “Avon Lady.” As a District Manager for Avon Products for twenty-five years, she brought beauty and empowerment to countless lives. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she seized every opportunity to ask, “Would you like to sell Avon?” She achieved Circle of Excellence, the highest award as a District Manager, several times in her career. Her passion for connecting with others left an indelible mark.

Modean’s zest for life extended to her family. She rarely missed her son’s baseball or football games, and her daughter’s choir performances, theatrical productions, and band concerts were non-negotiable. Modean traveled both internationally and within the United States. But her favorite escape was the beach with her family, where the waves whispered stories of joy and memories.

She leaves behind a daughter, Debbie (Kelly) Palmer Davis of Overland Park, Kansas, and a son Jeff (Kim) Palmer of Asheville, North Carolina, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. We gather to celebrate Modean’s life at Andrews First Baptist Church in Andrews, NC, on May 18th, 2024. Visitation begins at 1 pm, followed by a heartfelt service at 2 pm. Let us honor her legacy, share stories, and find solace in the love she leaves behind.
