Patti Scardino-Hughes, 80 of Overland Park, KS died peacefully July 23rd, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Patti was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri to James P. and Mary (Dabney) Rogers, 1/20/1935. She graduated from Lillis High School and attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.

She married Anthony (Tony) E. Scardino, Jr., May 1, 1954 in Kansas City, MO where they had 3 children. She then married Vincent (Vince) G. Hughes, June 6, 1989.

Patti had a wonderful sense of humor, was quick to laugh and she was extremely proud of her Irish heritage.

Patti was a woman of many interests. She enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, needlework, reading, painting, and music to name a few. She and Vince traveled extensively while they were married and she was an avid lover of all animals, especially her dog Maya. Patti was a survivor of the tragic Hyatt Regency skywalk collapse that occurred in downtown Kansas City, MO in 1982.

She leaves two sons James (Jim) and Anthony (Tony) Scardino both of Overland Park, KS and daughter Suzanne (Sue) of Las Vegas, Nevada. Jim is married to Linda (Doctor) Scardino, Tony to Margaret (Grohmann) Scardino and Suzanne to Bill Anderson. She also leaves her brother Bob of Kansas City, MO. Patti was pre-deceased by her brother Jim Rogers.

Patti had 9 grand-children. Shannon and Alan Sweeney, Michael and Megan Scardino; and Zachary Norris all of Overland Park, KS. Tony IV (Alison) and Jeffrey (Natalie) Scardino and Emma (Alan) Bethel of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jessica Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Eric (Monica) Anderson of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Patti had 3 great grand-children, Tony V and Sophie Scardino both of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Grayson Scardino of Overland Park, KS. Her family is expecting 3 more great grand-children in the coming months.

Visitation will be on Saturday August 1st from 2 to 4PM at Signature Funerals, 8019 State Line Road, Kansas City, Missouri with a Rosary being said at 4pm. Cremation has been accorded. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to
