Matthew Louis Flack of Shawnee, passed away on May 14, 2022, at the age of 37. Matt was born on November 16, 1984 in Kansas City, Ks. Matt graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest and Pittsburg State University.
Matt was blessed with a large and loving family. Matt’s joy came through his children, Taylor and Hunter, by taking them fishing, hunting and special date nights. You could frequently find them at the dog park with Matt’s faithful furry companion, Lucy. They brought him so much joy and happiness. Matt was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. Some of his greatest times were spent on vacation with his family in Minnesota and Canada. He was so grateful for his parent’s unyielding support and love. He was blessed to work with his brother, best friend and confidant, Jake. Matt was proud of his brothers, Andy and Josh, and loved watching them as they continue to pursue their dreams and goals.
Matt was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Delmar Flack and maternal grandparents, Bob and Gertie Rittenhouse. He is survived by his daughter, Taylor; his son, Hunter; his parents, James and Susan Flack; his brothers Jacob, Andrew and Joshua; his paternal grandmother, Kathleen Flack; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Matt will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held, arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the education fund for Taylor and Hunter. Donations can be sent in c/o Susan Flack to 6546 Hallett St, Shawnee KS 66216.
Don’t worry, or feel sad for me, I’m fishing with the Master of the sea.
“Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”. Matthew 4:19

We are just clients of J&M Mowing, but our hearts are heavy after learning the sad news that Matt is no longer with us. RIP Matt. We will always remember your and Jake’s extraordinary kindness to us. We are praying for your family. We know that Scripture says, “Now we see through a glass darkly, but then face-to-face” and we believe you are entered into the indescribable joy of seeing your Savior’s radiant face and experiencing the depth of His unfathomable love.
Sincerely, Maureen & David Roland
My husband, David, and I are just clients of J&M Mowing, but both Matthew and Jakob have been so extraordinarily kind to us that it was with very heavy hearts that we learned that Matthew had passed away. Scripture says that we see only through a glass darkly, but then face-to-face and we believe that Matthew is in the presence of his Lord experiencing the radiance of His presence, the deepest love imaginable and the peace that passes understanding. It is difficult to express how sad we feel for his loss, especially for the sake of his family, but he has entered into the joy of the Lord that can’t be expressed in words. We are praying for your famil, Matthew. Rest in Peace. We will miss you.
You were a loyal and loved friend. Thank you for your persistence in trying to assure me I was worth something. I’ll keep the memories I have of us in a special place.
