Paul Zimmer, 85, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on July 3, 2014 at Santa Marta Retirement Community in Olathe.
Paul was born July 23, 1928 in Montrose, South Dakota. He was the eighth of thirteen children born to George and Alma Zimmer. After serving in the Korean War, Paul was employed at American Cyanamid where he worked his entire professional career. After retiring in 1990, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, investing and spending time with his grandchildren. Paul and his wife of 58 years, Audrey, resided in Shawnee from 1959 until 2008, where they were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Paul was proceeded in death by his grandson, Timothy Arthur Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, his six daughters, Paula Robinson, Louisville, KY, Dawn Zimmer (Bill Adams), Indianapolis, IN, Linda Zimmer (Peter Keyes), Eugene, OR, Ellen Feiden (Tom), Lenexa, KS, Connie Striebinger (Chuck), Overland Park, KS and Becky Ballard (Steve), Manhattan, KS and 13 grandchildren, Ben Robinson, Ryan, Sam and Hank Adams, Greta Keyes, Pete, Daniel and Mary Feiden, Charlee Striebinger and Audrey, Joe and Caroline Ballard.
A celebration of life service will be held on July 21, at 10:30am Holy Trinity Catholic Stone Chapel, Lenexa, KS.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Zimmer. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
