Rebecca Rosado Barber, 54, of Mission, Kansas passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Saint Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City Missouri surrounded by her loving family following her battle with lung cancer.
Rebecca was born July 29, 1966 in Queens, New York to Salvador Rosado and Elisa Fornoni. She was the eldest of her sisters and was raised in Central America and South Florida.
Rebecca was a kind, compassionate, and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Rebecca loved her family, animals, movies, and traveling. Her generous nature and engaging smile brought incredible joy to those who knew her.
The sadness of her passing is felt keenly by all who knew her. Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Salvador Rosado. She is survived by her husband Gregory Barber of Mission, KS; daughter Lauren Alvey of Washington, DC; daughter Alyssa Alvey of Mission, KS; mother Elisa Fornoni of Seattle, WA; sister Elizabeth Cabrera of Orlando, FL; sister Cristina Garcia of Seattle WA; sister Lizette Mistry of Vancouver, CA; and step-sister Mia Rosado of Kansas City, Missouri.
A Celebration of Rebecca’s life will take place on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 1-3pm at Signature Funerals; 406D E. Bannister Road, Kansas City, MO 64114.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, plants, and meals during Rebecca’s recent battle. Your generosity means so much to the entire family. We would also like to thank the staffs of Saint Luke’s Hospice House and AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Cancer Center for their compassionate care.
