Stacy (Pope) Tholen 52, of Leawood Kansas, left to be with God on January 10, 2018. Stacy was born in El Paso, TX, attending The University of El Paso for a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. She sang in many choirs in her lifetime, a passion that took her to many wonderful countries and cities. Some of her closest friends were the singers she had the honor of performing with. In her professional career she worked in many industries, most recently as a hospice marketing representative with Gentiva hospice.
Stacy was most proud of her roles as a wife and a mother. She saw Tim as the most wonderful husband and Jacob as the most amazing son.
In addition to her immediate family, Stacy leaves behind three sisters, Mary, Amy and Barbara; her brother Joe; her mother Angie, countless in-laws, nephews, nieces and outstanding friends. She wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Amandeep Kalra and all the medical staff at Research Hospital, who shepherded her through her journey battling her Glioblastoma brain cancer.
True to her character, she did not want a formal service or funeral. She wanted a large party in the yard. This will be held in the spring, details will be sent out. Assistance by Funeral Advocates, LLC.
You will always be missed and loved !
A beautiful woman with a great spirit….she was the best wife…mother… daughter-in-law….and friend to so many.
Loved her very much…
A heart of gold and a voice of an Angel. You will forever be loved and missed. I was so proud to call you my “Daughter”.
Our hearts hurt. We love you always and will remember you, your music, your smile, and your wicked sense of humor.
Sending much love to the Tholen family. Tim, my heart goes out to you and your son.
Hugs and love.
You will always be remembered by me as a woman of grace and talent. Well spoken and beautiful, strong and fearless. Your poise and intelligence made an impression on everyone. You were a force to be reckoned with! You will be missed greatly. I am so very grateful for every moment we had you. As we said when we last spoke, we will meet again one day. Until then, sister…love you always.
I experienced a beautiful person in Stacy inside and out from Her Amazing voice to Her Wonderful Spirit.
Gone too soon but not forgotten. Not only the beauty of her voice but her inner beauty.. Always greeted you with a smile and that wicked sense of humor. She always spoke the truth, loved life and had a way of making you feel special. I wish I could wrap Jacob and Tim in my arms and make the hurt go away. Just remember that you have an entire village out there to lean on. We all feel grateful to have known her. You and Jacob are lucky to have each other. Life can be too short but love endures. Rich and I send you our love.
Amy, my heart goes out to all. Please keep me posted. Your sister sounded amazing. Hugs
So sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers.
I didn’t know Stacy but I work with her brother, Joe. From what he has spoken about her, she was truly an amazing human being and wonderful sister to big brother, Joe. My prayers are with her family and friends. Wow, what a smile!
From the day she was born, she lit up a room. It was a special privilege to be her big brother. We are so grateful for the family that she married, especially Tim and Jacob. Her circle of friends is an incredible group of folks as well. I will miss her smile, her humor, and her voice the most.
To Stacey Family :
Our sincere condolences, praying for you and we love you .

Stacy was a beautiful, talented woman whose presence in our family inspired us all to be better people. I will especially miss her wonderful sense of humor and open-door policy on Friday afternoon cocktail hour.

Sending love, hugs, and prayers.
Condolences to the family. I knew Stacy from work and she was the sweetest and most kind hearted person. I could be having the worst day and seeing her and her beautiful smile would completely make it great! You will be missed Stacy. God bless
I am so very sorry to hear the news. Grace and Peace to the Tholen family and all who loved her so much.
Stacy and I worked together for 20 yrs. calling on Doctors offices. She had the most amazing relationships in every office. She made a point to know all about the families and lives of everyone. I watched the decline of this beautiful woman over the past 1 1/2 yrs. and I can’t believe that she’s gone. Thank you Tim for all your compassion, you are a Saint !!! I will never forget our sweet, honest (tell it like it is), fun loving Stacy.
What a voice, what a smile, and what fun. Come back Stacy we need and miss you terribly. Hang tough Jacob and Tim.
Although life took us in different directions, I will always treasure the friendship and adventures we shared, musical and otherwise. You will be in my heart and thoughts every day.
Prayers out to Stacy’s family and friends. You will be missed dearly! You were a good friend, thank you!
I am so sad to hear about your departure Stacy. I keep wonderful memories from our singing days at UTEP. My condolences to your family.
I’m so sorry to hear. I know she was a fighter. Thinking of you.
