It is with great sadness that the family of Stephanie (Hercules) Whitney announces her peaceful passing on July 22, 2021, at the age of 50 years. Stephanie will forever be adored by her two daughters, her best friends, Brittanie (23) and Courtney (20). She also left behind her beloved dogs, Chili and Beans.
Stephanie will also be lovingly remembered by her brother Brent Hercules, and her niece Lilly Moore. She was also very fond of her extended family that included numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barry & Linda Hercules (Lenexa, KS); Grandparents, Leonard & Rhea Turner (Mission, KS) and grandparents, William Phillip and Dorothy Hercules (Overland Park, KS); Uncle and aunt, Leonard & Lianne Turner (Roeland Park, KS), and uncle and aunt, Mike & Beverly Hercules (Overland Park, KS).
Stephanie was born on Halloween, October 31st, 1970, in Merriam, KS, but spent most of her youth in Sunrise Beach, MO. She graduated from Camdenton High School in 1989, eventually graduating from Southwest Missouri State University in 1993 with a degree in Business Administration. During college she was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, where she developed devoted and lifelong relationships. Upon graduation, Stephanie earned a well-deserved reputation as an excellent software trainer working for several companies throughout the course of her career. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, volunteering and being out in nature with her daughters. She spent the last 16 years in the greater Kansas City area.
Since Stephanie was a little girl growing up, she was known to be the life of every social gathering. Her larger-than-life presence and outgoing personality will forever be remembered by her acquaintances, friends, family, and daughters. She was a proud, supportive, and loving mother who was devoted to her daughters and their passions. She lived her life to the fullest and undoubtedly would want her memory to be the same for years to come.
A sincere thank you for your love and support during this difficult time and transition for our family. Any condolences may be provided on her behalf to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, towards a scholarship fund for the NAAF conference, an event she cherished attending every year with Courtney – https://support.naaf.org/StephWhitney.
