Thomas (“Tom”) Peters died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on September 8 at NorthCare Hospice House at the age of 71. He leaves behind his daughters Bree Peters and Mara Cohara, his son-in-law Benjamin Cohara, granddaughter Myer Cohara and grandson Maclin Cohara.
Tom was born May 3, 1947 in Greensburg, PA, to Ward and Frances Peters. Tom married the love of his life, Nanette (Halpert), his wife of 43 years, on November 27, 1971. While they lived in many places, the two made their home in Kansas City, MO with their daughters and grandchildren.
Tom is also survived by his siblings, Cookie Jewell, Kathy Martinez, Henry Peters, Beth Houpt, and Jerry Peters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother, Ward “Bud” Peters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, 7600 NW Barry Rd, Kansas City, MO 64153. All are welcome to attend this celebration of Tom’s life.
The family would like to thank Riverstone Retirement Community for all they did for Tom his last year. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, the American Cancer Society, NorthCare Hospice House or another charity in Tom’s honor.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. He will be missed by all who loved him. He was a wonderful man . I wish we lived closer but I will cherish all the memories I had with him and Aunt Nan and Mara and Bree when I was younger. I pray for fast healing hearts. Xoxo xoxo.
